Six Lines (Liu Yao)

How the method works
The coins form six lines, from bottom to top. Liu Yao reads their relationships against the day and month of the cast. The English reading explains the calculated conditions and their sources, with unresolved judgments clearly stated.
About the partnership options
Wealth follows the classical convention for a man asking about his wife; Officials follows the convention for a woman asking about her husband. These are specific traditional mappings, not assumptions about your identity. If neither fits your question, choose General cast. Other relationship mappings are not established here.
Confirm your place to show its current local time.
For a new cast, we use the current local time at this place when you make the first throw.
For a cast you made earlier
Use the clock time recorded at that place. Do not adjust daylight saving, UTC or solar time yourself.
How the time is used
We take the current instant and express it at your confirmed place before applying the original solar-time rules. The month follows the absolute solar-term change. The solar correction does not move that boundary; 23:00 stays on the same solar calendar day. Earlier casts need their recorded time, and repeated hours need an occurrence choice.

Classical Judgment and line texts
Classical reference — the hexagram’s Judgment:
The line texts — moving lines are marked:
source — the received text, public domain; English after James Legge, The Yi King (1882); read the whole figure →Calculated line details
| Line | Animal | Original branch & relation | Checks | Changed branch & relation |
|---|
Swipe or scroll the table sideways to see all columns. Red marks movement or a void flag; shaded rows mark focus candidates. A void flag does not by itself establish weakness or failure. Subject means shi; response means ying. Seasonal status comes from the month pillar; day checks come from the day pillar. All six changed-figure assignments are shown when a line moves, but transformation effects are read only at the moving positions.
These facts are calculated using the Jing Fang method. Changed relations use the original palace element. All moving positions remain visible. Where relevant, hidden focus lines and classical selection conditions are included in the sourced reading; a final verdict is not established.
A reproducible example — not your cast
Enter 111000, bottom first, with line 1 changing. Use local date 2026-10-05, time 14:00, and select money. The engine calculates Earth over Heaven → Earth over Wind, with Wealth candidates at lines 1 and 5. The day pillar is Ren Zi, the month pillar Ding You. The two candidates remain visible; this release does not silently choose one.
Choose “Enter my own cast,” fill in these details, then select “Read these lines.” This example illustrates the calculation; it does not predict an outcome.
Reading limits and saved conversations
The selected topic determines the focus category. Day and month checks, movement, and subject–response positions are recorded independently. One favorable mark does not settle the outcome; one void mark does not automatically negate the line.
All moving lines are retained. Each changed branch is compared with its own original line, and moving original lines are compared with the visible focus candidates. The received Judgment and line texts are provided for reading; they do not substitute for a completed Liu Yao verdict.
Hidden focus lines, competing candidates and rescue conditions are shown where the checked rules apply. Their final combined weight and specific event dates are not established. The reading lists the limits relevant to your cast. A full paid reading is not available in this preview.
