How the methods differ

Liu Yao considers the roles of the six lines, their changing relationships, and the casting day and month. Mei Hua Yi Shu, shortened here to Mei Hua, compares the five phases of two trigrams: one representing yourself (ti), the other the matter (yong), alongside the related and changed hexagrams. Chinese-character casting is also available in Mei Hua; it does not accept English words.

For Mei Hua time casting, providing a city enables true-solar-time correction. Without a city, the recorded clock time is used. In number and character casts, the city is recorded but does not change the hexagram.

Each method keeps its own rules and source notes. Readings explain the conditions the service can check and identify unresolved judgments. Agreement between methods does not establish that a prediction is accurate.

Questions and saved conversations

Begin with one question and keep that cast while discussing it. A new matter needs a new cast; repeating the same question to seek a preferred answer does not make a reading more reliable.

The first cast and reading need no account. To save a conversation, write your question and sign in. A saved conversation allows up to six answered exchanges about the same matter. Simply recasting or switching pages does not add exchanges.

After six answers, you may be invited to explore the same matter with the other method. The service checks whether it is the same matter before continuing; each method retains its own reading rules.
